Vehicle Air-Conditioning
Over 75% of all vehicles on the road today have air conditioning and climate control systems fitted as standard. There are many advantages about having air conditioning in your vehicle on a hot day but just like most other components on your vehicle, the air conditioning systems requires regular attention to ensure it continues to work efficiently and effectively.
Vehicle air conditioning systems can lose refrigeration gas over time, especially if they aren’t used on a regular basis. This means that the system cannot work as efficient as it could. Most vehicle manufacturers recommend you have your air conditioning system recharged with gas and oil every 2 years. With this not being a part of your regular vehicle service. If your vehicle hasn’t had it’s air conditioning serviced within the last 2 years then we would highly recommend you have it serviced.
Fact
Air conditioning isn’t just for the hot summer months, it can also be used in the cold winter months to delist your front windscreen. The Air conditioning system creates a dry warm air rather than the humid air you get from normal fan operation. This means air conditioning will clear your windscreen much faster.
The service we provide at Excalibur Mobile Auto Electrics is a thura check of the air conditioning system and involves the removal of old refrigerant gas and oil from the air conditioning system, before replacing refrigerant and oil. A nitrogen test is performed to ensure there are no leaks or damage on the air conditioning system that could cause the gas to escape.
If no leaks are detected we will then perform a vacuum procedure, once we are happy with the pressure holding within the system we will then recharge your vehicle with the correct amount of refrigerant gas and oil as to the manufacturers specification.
Within A Short Amount Of Time The Air Conditioning Service Will Be Completed And Your Vehicles Air Conditioning Will Be Up To Its Optimal Level. Air Conditioning Systems That Are Not Serviced Regularly Will Work Less Efficiently And Will Have To Significantly Work Harder To Produce Cool Air. This Puts Strain On Both The Air Conditioning Compressor And The Engine Itself Meaning You Will Use More Fuel And Lower The Life Of Your Compressor.
Excalibur Mobile Auto Electrics is proud to be able to offer its customers two types of refrigerant gases.
The most common gas found of vehicles – R134a.
The gas found in new vehicles which only a few companies have the ability to do – HFO-1234yf
Do you have bad odours coming from your vehicles air vents when the fans are turned on?
If so, Then we would highly recommend giving your vehicles air conditioning a clean also known as a debug. Over time bacteria, mould and fungi can build up on the evaporator in the air conditioning system which can produce an unpleasant odour when the fans are switched on. In some cases this can cause a number of sickness and respiratory problems as bacterial spores are blown into the cabin of your vehicle and breathed in by everybody inside the vehicle.
Excalibur Mobile Auto Electrics offer air conditioning cleaning to decontaminate the air conditioning system and kill bacteria within it. The process involves using either a cleaning spray or using a machine in the vehicles cabin which is sucked into the vehicles vents and get rid of unwanted bacteria within, leaving your air conditioning system clean and smell fresh.
